The Langtang Valley trekking trail lies to the north of Kathmandu Valley, boasting one of the most captivating landscapes known for its breathtaking beauty. Easily accessible, the journey commences with a scenic drive to the trail-head in Syabrubesi. The trail leads you through the enchanting Langtang National Park, a sanctuary for several endangered wildlife species, including the elusive red panda, majestic snow leopard, Himalayan black bear, musk deer, and wild goats, along with a myriad of colorful bird species.

In spring, the meadows come alive with a vibrant carpet of alpine wildflowers, while the forests transform into a kaleidoscope of hues with blooming rhododendron, orchids, and magnolia, showcasing the region’s diverse floral abundance.

The Langtang Valley and Kyanjin Gompa trekking trails lead you through dense sub-tropical forests and soaring pine trees, gradually opening up to the pristine Langtang village. As you continue your journey, the landscape transitions into subalpine meadows, offering mesmerizing views of barren yak pastures.

Throughout the trek, your eyes will be drawn to the majestic snow-capped peaks, such as Langtang Lirung (7,246m) and Dorje Lakpa (6,966m), standing tall in all their grandeur. These awe-inspiring Himalayan peaks form the main attractions and provide a captivating backdrop to the entire trekking experience.

During the expedition, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the scenic wonders surrounding Kyanjin Gompa, adding a touch of serenity and spiritual charm to your journey. Day 1: Kathmandu to Syabrubesi Embark on your Langtang adventure as you leave Kathmandu behind and drive to Syabrubesi. The journey offers scenic vistas of rural Nepal and charming villages along the way. Upon reaching Syabrubesi, rest and prepare for the exciting trek ahead.

Day 2: Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel Begin your trek through lush forests and picturesque landscapes. Cross suspension bridges over the Langtang River and ascend through dense rhododendron and bamboo forests. Arrive at Lama Hotel, a cozy stopover amidst nature’s beauty.

Day 3: Lama Hotel to Langtang Village Continue your ascent, passing by mesmerizing waterfalls and enchanting streams. Traverse through the dense forest and witness the rich biodiversity of the region. Arrive at Langtang Village, a traditional Sherpa settlement, and immerse yourself in its cultural charm.

Day 4: Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa Today’s trail takes you to Kyanjin Gompa, an ancient Buddhist monastery. Journey through glacial valleys, with majestic snow-capped peaks looming in the background. Reach Kyanjin Gompa and relish the serene ambiance of this spiritual enclave.

Day 5: Explore Kyanjin Gompa Take a well-deserved rest day to explore Kyanjin Gompa and its surroundings. Hike up to the vantage point for stunning panoramic views of the Langtang mountain range. Visit the cheese factory and interact with the friendly locals, embracing their unique culture.

Day 6: Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel Bid farewell to Kyanjin Gompa and begin your descent back to Lama Hotel. Enjoy the return journey, savoring the familiar landscapes and creating lasting memories of the Langtang region.

Day 7: Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi, then Kathmandu Conclude your trek as you trek back to Syabrubesi. Board the vehicle and drive back to Kathmandu, where you can reflect on the incredible adventure you just experienced amidst the stunning Langtang Valley.

Day 8: Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru Continue your trek through the lush forests and picturesque landscapes. Ascend to Thulo Syabru, a charming village perched on a ridge, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Explore the village and experience the local culture and traditions.

Day 9: Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa (Chandan Bari) Trek through the rhododendron and pine forests, witnessing the breathtaking views of the Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges. Pass by small settlements and eventually arrive at Sing Gompa, also known as Chandan Bari, a serene place with a small cheese factory and a peaceful monastery.

Day 10: Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda Embark on a challenging yet rewarding day as you ascend to Gosainkunda, a sacred lake revered by Hindus and Buddhists alike. The trail takes you through lush alpine meadows, crossing the Lauribinayak Pass. Reach Gosainkunda and be captivated by the serene beauty of the glacial lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks.

Day 11: Gosainkunda to Ghopte Continue your journey by crossing the Laurebina Pass (4,610m), offering majestic views of the Langtang and Annapurna ranges. Descend through rocky terrain and reach Ghopte, a small settlement nestled amidst the mountains.

Day 12: Ghopte to Kutumsang Trek through dense forests, rhododendron groves, and charming villages. Experience the diverse landscape and local culture as you make your way to Kutumsang, a beautiful village with stunning mountain vistas.

Day 13: Kutumsang to Chisapani Hike through terraced fields, scattered settlements, and pristine forests. Enjoy the panoramic views of the Langtang, Ganesh, and Dorje Lakpa mountain ranges. Arrive at Chisapani, a peaceful hilltop village known for its breathtaking sunrise and sunset views.

Day 14: Chisapani to Sundarijal, then Kathmandu Embark on the final leg of your trek as you hike to Sundarijal, passing through Shivapuri National Park. Descend through oak and rhododendron forests and arrive at Sundarijal. From here, drive back to Kathmandu, where you can celebrate the successful completion of your Langtang Valley adventure.
